Bridging a cultural divide in a classroom online and on site with Dr. Jiraporn Kerdchoochuen [Video]

From CUP ELT Team: As online and blended classrooms became the norm with the COVID-19 pandemic, teachers all over the world had to face challenges which ranged from coping with technology difficulties to identifying the most suitable instructional strategies, all while trying to connect or reconnect with our students. With those issues dealt with, it is time to refocus on a classic classroom obstacle: a cultural divide. Differences in attitude, experience, preference, expectation, and teaching-learning style of teachers and students continue to impact classroom dynamics, both online and on-site. This session will examine different individual cultures in a classroom using the dialectical tension theory, and explore options on how we can bridge the divide and improve teaching effectiveness.
