The Department of English, APS College of Commerce, N R Colony, Bangalore -19, is organizing a UGC sponsored national conference on ‘Emerging Disciplines of Applied Linguistics’ onOctober 13-14, 2014.

About the Conference:

Applied linguistics is an interdisciplinary field. Major branches of applied linguistics include bilingualism and multilingualism, computer-mediated communication (CMC), conversation analysis, contrastive linguistics, sign linguistics, language assessment, literacies, discourse analysis, language pedagogy, second language acquisition, lexicography, language planning and policy, interlinguistics, stylistics, pragmatics,forensic linguistics and translation. 

Papers are invited for presentation from researchers and teachers on (but not

restricting to ) the following areas and related topics :

  • Experimental linguistics
  • Computational linguistics
  • Contrastive Evolutionary linguistics
  • Forensic linguistics
  • Language acquisition linguistics
  • Language assessment
  • Language development
  • Language education
  • Linguistic anthropology
  • Neurolinguistics
  • Psycholinguistics.
