Note from the conference organizers:
The University of Jyväskylä, Finland, is proud to announce that in 2014 it will host the leading international conference on language in society, SS20. The theme of the conference is Language, Time and Space.
We warmly welcome you here to discuss fundamental issues in sociolinguistics and discourse studies, and not only to rethink our present understanding of these disciplines but also to imagine their future frontiers. Our main areas of interest will be connectivity and trajectories of language resources in time and space; how language practices change, vary and alternate in their different geographical, social and political contexts; and how they come together in different nexuses emerging from what can be called ‘rhizomatic’ circulations.
We are pleased to invite papers on both theoretical issues and empirical findings.
If you have any queries please contact us by email at ss20info@jyu.fi.
