Conference Theme

‘English-From Classes to Masses’

The theme ‘English from Classes to Masses’ has emerged out of the diverse use of English in India and other such countries where it is either a second or a foreign language. Whatever be the status, there is no denying the fact that it is now no longer the language of the classes. In fact it is the language used by the masses because it is today getting connected to career and advancement in career. In countries where it is a second language, most career conscious people aspire to be proficient in the language. This widespread use of English has driven away the age old phobia of the once dreaded language. The conference will focus on how English has become the language of the masses and also the factors responsible for its widespread use.

The conference will have plenary sessions, debates, panel-discussion, workshops, technical and paper reading sessions by ELT practitioners from around the country and the world sharing their experience, teaching styles and innovative practices.
