Thailand TESOL now invites all those working in the field of English Language Teaching or related areas to submit an abstract for the 33rd Thailand TESOL International Conference on 25-26 January 2013. The theme of the conference is “E” novation and Communities in English Language Teaching. We welcome presentations, workshops, and poster sessions from all sectors of the English Language Teaching field. Not only do we wish to explore the ELT in Thailand, but also in Asia and throughout the world as a whole. Our goal is to open the way for in-depth discussions, debates, and the sharing of ideas that will enable more enlightened classroom practices for the benefit of all EFL/ESL students. Proposals addressing the conference theme will receive first consideration.
Rationale
What does the letter, “E” mean to English language teachers? Many would say,” E-Learning”
The E acronym in the field In fact can go quite far, from the context of teaching like EFL and ESL to, EIIL, EAL, ESOL, EOL, ELF and the latest just coined by Jun Liu at TESOL 2012 EEL or English for everywhere language. In learning a new language we emphasize the importance of being exposed to the language, echoing other speakers, engaging in learning activities and elaboration and extension of language communication.
In the process of educating ourselves and others, we explore and evaluate our learning to assess our effectiveness. We enhance our teaching and learning by integrating the electronic medium to the human factor. Like other human activities, language teaching and learning are complex, often unsystematic, entailing the interconnectivity of all the E variables and unfolding in the community of teaching and learning.
Objectives
The Thailand TESOL 2013 conference aims to:
1) strengthen the perceived value of “E” novation among teachers in Thailand, from pre-service teacher trainees to veterans, both national and international;
