3. Teach English in Taiwan with TEFL Certification

The teaching market in Taiwan is perhaps the largest and most established market in all of Asia. Teaching positions can be found year-around in public, private, and language schools. Employers conduct interviews well in advance, over the phone and via e-mail. Teachers usually reside in apartments vacated by previous instuctors, and earn a comfortable salary. A Bachelors or Associates degree is required in Taiwan and TEFL Certification is necessary!

4. Paid Teaching Positions Available in South Korea

Placements for the Teach in Korea program are currently in the country’s private schools. This is a paid position with an annual salary of US$21,000-$27,000 based on a 30 hours per week (6 hours/week). Free airfare (may be purchased or reimbursed depending on the school), free housing, paid holidays, and more!

School begins in late August. From Mid-December to the end of January is winter vacation (for middle and high school). Spring vacation runs for a week in late February. Summer vacation is mid-July to mid-August. Teachers are paid during these holidays.
