OUP ELT Webinars

The OUP team says, “‘My group just doesn’t gel!’ Does this complaint, (from answers to a questionnaire to teachers in language schools in many different countries) strike a chord with you? Have you experienced either the joy of working with a harmonious and cohesive group of students or the difficulty of trying to work with a fractious and divided group? If so, this webinar is for you!

In the present day EFL classroom, where pairwork and groupwork are the norm, harmonious relationships and a positive atmosphere within the classroom have become increasingly important for the success of courses. Research has shown that a positive and cohesive atmosphere in the group has a beneficial effect on morale and motivation and can significantly affect learning. But can something as intangible as ‘atmosphere’ be created? This talk will explore some practical ways in which group atmosphere and relationships can be enhanced“.
