CONCEPT NOTE
Language is for expression and Literature is the reflection of that expression. The unique quality of Language and Literature in socialising, humanising and educating is well acknowledged and appreciated across the globe. When language empowers one to express oneself, Literature opens a wide arena where one can look for larger domains for refinement. The status of English Language and Literature in this global era is a highly relevant topic of discussion among academicians, linguists and literary people. The humanising potential of language and literature are highly innovative areas for anthropologists as well as academicians to look up. These days, value added courses and value educations are included in the curriculum in order to impart humanising values to the society. At this juncture, it is exciting to deliberate upon the humanising quality of language and literature. The humanising potential of language and literature is a highly interesting area for further studies and research.

- To explore English language & literature as a tool for humanising.
- To examine the challenges in humanising English Language teaching & learning in current contexts.
- To bring anthropologists, linguists, academicians and literary people to a common platform to evaluate the role of English Language & Literature as a tool for humanising.

- Conference Proceedings will be released in the inaugural function and a book of selected papers will be published by a renowned publishing company. Both the publications will be with ISBN number.
- The best performances in the round-table discussion and the best paper presentations will be awarded.
- All the certificates connected with the Conference activities will be distributed by 5 pm on February 24, 2015. The organisers assure no delay in this regards.
- Every participant should register and complete the formalities before the deadline in order to make our work smoother.
- In case of co-authored paper, both the authors should register for individual certificate.
- Those who volunteer to be the session chair/chair for the roundtable discussion along with your participation in the conference have to register and fulfil the conditions. You’ll be given the opportunity to perform the special task and get the appreciation Certificate.
- No Certificate in absentia.
CONDITIONS FOR PAPER PRESENTATION
- We welcome original and unpublished research papers on any of the above mentioned subthemes or related topics with a 200-word abstract and the text not exceeding 2000 words in MS Word, 12 font size, Times New Romans (latest MLA style) should reach the Organizing Committee by December 10, 2014.
- We also invite proposals with abstracts in about 200 words highlighting the objective and significance and application of your workshop for 30 to 45 minutes on innovative methodologies on humanising ELT by experts in the field.
- The research papers and a short profile with all the necessary details should be sent to ellath2015@gmail.com or antony.omana.bg@gmail.com latest by December 10, 2014.
- Each Paper presenter will get around 10-12 minutes for oral presentation of the paper
- Registration may be completed by December 30, 2014 by the candidates who are intimated by the Organizing Committee for presentation.

REGISTRATION FEE (PER PARTICIPANT)
One registration is applicable for two days. The registration fee includes conference kit, conference proceedings, transport facility in all the scheduled routes of the University as per the time given in the website, meals, refreshment, etc.

ABOUT LINGAYA’S UNIVERSITY
